Workshop insight,
Matts 106 Rallye
On the first edition of workshop insight, essentially a portfolio of cars we have had in and out of the workshop. Matts 106 is the first big build.
A labour of love, Matt used to drive his 106, caged, daily! Ahh to be young. It was then taken off the road for alot of major improvements, where it has stayed for a number of years, until he approached JPR for help.
He had essentially stripped the whole thing bare, had the engine completely rebuilt to race spec. Had a new rear beam, setup to race spec, had bought a huge amount of spares new, and run out of motivation to complete it.
That’s where we came in, and I will update this post, as the car progresses, with captions.
Matt's not willing to divulge numbers, but it's a significant number spent on the engine to bring it up to race spec.
Iconic branding on the 106 Rallye.
All 4 calipers are brand new from the box, and the discs and pads all around are Brembo.
Aluminium catch tank, and inline fuel filter mounted to the back, new brake lines just showing, and brand new race engine mounts just out of shot.
Fuel swirl post, waiting on some AN-6 fittings to plumb it in, a new lift pump has also been added to the system.
Light weight race battery, mounted just behind the passenger seat.
Refurbished to race spec rear beam, and new everything else, brand new calipers, new discs, new pads, all Brembo. Brand new brake lines run all the way from the front, and inside the car. New rear shocks.
Race spec gear shifting, a Satchshift by Satchell engineering. For direct feel shifting, and lifts the gear knob up to right next to the steering wheel.
Refurbished front end, with extended wheel stud kit, so he can pick and choose wheel and spacers combinations.
Custom coilover suspension shocks,
Rose jointed steering arms,
Satchell front end strengthening kit, and race spec engine mounts on show.
